이제는 많이 잊혀진 듯 보이지만, 여전히 한국에는 미얀마의 아픔에 공감하는 사람들이 많습니다. 그렇다면 어떻게 한국인들과 미얀마인들이 서로의 공감대를 찾을 수 있을까요?

저희가 발견한 아주 소중한 일기장을 통해서 그 시작의 징검다리를 놓아보고자 합니다.

Though it may seem that many have forgotten, there are still many people in Korea who feel deep empathy for the pain of Myanmar. So how can Koreans and Myanmar people find common ground with one another?

Through a precious diary we discovered, we hope to lay the first stepping stones toward that connection.

몸은 한국에 있어도 마음은 군부 독재의 탄압속에서 신음하고 있는 재한 미얀마인들과 함께 공연을 준비했습니다. 미얀마인들의 민주주의를 위한 싸움은 한국의 과거와 현재와도 통하는 부분이 많습니다. 

그 이야기를 가장 진솔한 방식의 공연으로 전달하고 싶습니다.

We prepared this performance together with Myanmar people living in Korea — whose bodies are here, but whose hearts are aching under the oppression of military dictatorship. The struggle of the Myanmar people for democracy resonates deeply with Korea's own past and present.

We want to convey that story through performance, in the most honest way possible.
