줄거리 Synopsis

아버지의 갑작스러운 죽음 후, 한국에 있는 엄마 곁으로 온 조선족 박림은 직장에서 스스로를 증명하려 하고 ‘무책임한 조선족’이라는 인식을 바꾸고 싶어 한다. 

그러던 어느 날, 중국에서 정직원 제안이 들어오고 출장 기간을 고려해 거절하려 했지만, 엄마의 반대에 부딪히며 편견에 대한 두 사람의 태도가 갈라진다. 

After her father’s sudden death, Korean Chinese (Joseonjok) Park Lim moves to Korea to be with her mother. She fights to prove herself and shed the ‘irresponsible Joseonjok’ label. But when a job offer comes that would take her back to China, she hesitates due to how long she would have to be away. Her mother objects, and the two clash over their views on prejudice.

제작의도 Director’s Remarks

매체에 의해 한국 사회에서 조선족에 대한 관념이 단일적으로 고정되어 있다. 본 영화를 부모님 세대와 많이 달라져 있는 청년 조선족들의 다양한 모습, 생각, 추세, 그리고 조선족에 대한 각자 다른 태도를 가지고 있는 한국인들의 모습도 보여드리고 싶다. 

점점 혼합이 되어가는 글로벌 시대, 많아지고 있는 다문화 사람들에게 안정감 있고 반갑게 안아줄 수 있는 한국 사회가 될 수 있으면 하는 마음의 메시지도 같이 전달하고 싶다.

While Korea modernizes, its media still frames Korean Chinese (Joseonjok) through dated stereotypes - poverty, ignorance, or violence - ignoring both China's rise and this generation's defiant dignity. The new generation of Korean Chinese no longer bend to marginalization; they demand recognition through action, challenging rigid ideologies with their lived realities.
